Celebrating St David’s Day: Embracing the Power of Small Actions in Conservation

As we celebrate St David’s Day, we reflect on the words of Saint David himself: "Be joyful, keep the faith, and do the little things that you have heard and seen me do."

These simple yet profound words remind us that even the smallest actions can make a significant difference, and here at the Welsh Mountain Zoo, we take this to heart in our ongoing conservation efforts. Whether it’s through our educational programmes, support of conservation projects in Wales and around the world, or the care of endangered species, every step we take contributes to the bigger picture of wildlife conservation.

Our commitment to conservation is rooted in Saint David’s call to action and here at the Welsh Mountain Zoo, we strive daily towards our vision of a world where animals and their habitats are appreciated, understood and conserved. From the conservation of the UK’s only native squirrel species the Red Squirrel, to international efforts for Snow Leopard, Margay and Red Panda conservation, our work is driven by the belief that every effort counts, no matter how small it may seem.

As we commemorate Saint David’s Day, we invite you to join us in our mission to safeguard the future of wildlife. Through conservation, education, and a shared sense of responsibility, we can all do our part to ensure a sustainable and thriving planet. Together, we can make a lasting impact, inspired by the wisdom of St David’s words: "Do the little things in life."
