Other Mammals

Our warm blooded mammals come in all shapes and sizes, and almost all are covered in hair.

There are over 5,000 different mammal species on earth, most live on dry land, but some, such as the Californian Sea Lion live and thrive in water as well as land. Most mammals nourish their offspring with milk and like humans, need some level of parental care to survive.

Our diverse mammal enclosures mirror the landscapes in which our animals roam, such as the hilly plains of the Eurasian Brown Bear to the dense undergrowth of the Red Fronted Brown Lemur. From the small Azara's Agouti to the towering Bactrian Camel, from the cutest Red panda to the mischievous Meerkats, they all live here at the Welsh Mountain Zoo.
